AUTOHARP LESSONS WITH HAL WEEKS
DON'T WAIT "UNTIL YOU ARE BETTER" TO START LESSONS! HAL'S JOB IS TO HELP YOU AT GETTING BETTER IN THE QUICKEST AND BEST WAYS! PUTTING IT OFF CAN DELAY YOU FURTHER BY DEVELOP HARD-TO-BREAK MUSCLE MEMORY HABITS!
I have had many students who have wanted to make music for years but have always struggled: nothing's clicked! But a week into trying the autoharp they are actually playing and singing songs.
Now they're hooked on this amazing instrument! They've come to experience music pouring from their own hands and hearts! I've seen this transformation again and again. I can't take credit for this, it's their victory; but it transforms me, too, every time I see it. And it started with my own transformation.
PRICING AND SCHEDULE
Lessons are 30 minutes, though they sometimes go a little over; I don't charge extra for that. Typically students have the same time each week, though flex schedules are doable; let's discuss it!
Lessons are booked 4 at a time for $140 (that's $35 for 30 minutes). Payment is handled thru PayPal. I put you in my ledger for 4 lessons. When those have been used up, we do it again!
I send out the Google Meet (or Zoom) Link for each lesson about 10 minutes before your lesson begins. You just click on that to join the meeting.
CANCELLATIONS AND VACATION HOLD
If you need to cancel or reschedule, just email me the day before or morning of your lesson. I don't charge for missed lessons unless you don't tell me...(emergencies excepted; I'm reasonable!)
You can go away for a few weeks and I'll hold your time without charging you for missed lessons. But if you go away for a month or more, we'd need to look at schedule openings to restart you.

WHAT GEAR IS NEEDED FOR LESSONS BY WEBCAM?
NOT MUCH! A relatively up to date computer (Desktop, Laptop, or Tablet.) Your device needs to have a built in camera and microphone, or an external USB webcam/mic combo. It's best to already know how to use Zoom or Meet. (No Facetime, as these are Apple-only platforms, and I run Windows) If in doubt about your knowledge or devices, plan to have some practice webcam meetings with a computer-savvy friend to get the hang of it, so we don't have to spend a lot of lesson time learning to use devices and software instead of learning autoharp!
ANYTHING ELSE?
An autoharp, an electronic tuner and tuning wrench. Some picks of your choice, thumb and finger preferably, but flatpicking is also fun...(much time will be spent talking about different picks and picking styles.) A notebook for taking notes. Later, we will discuss possible books we could work through.
