When We Build

My father, also a woodworker, received a book on woodworking as a gift
from my mother in 1945. The occasion was their 1st wedding anniversary.
This short paragraph by John Ruskin (19th century) is on the inside cover.
It embodies the spirit of what we try to be at A Different Drummer.

When we build, let us think that we build forever.
Let it not be for present delight nor for present use
alone. Let it be such work as our descendants will
thank us for; and let us think, as we lay stone on
stone, that a time is to come when those stones
will be held sacred because our hands have
touched them, and that men will say, as they look
upon the labor and wrought substance of them,
“See! This our father did for us.” __John Ruskin

Over the years, the development of the d'Aigle Autoharp has involved many friends.
This is a list of some of the people who have aided me directly in ways both large
and small. The names are listed alphabetically, along with the capacity in which
they helped. I am sure this list will only grow as time goes by, as does my appreciation.
